The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock promotes a safe and healthy environment for people and all animals. The Township offers a number of animal services, including licencing and wildlife services.
Reporting a by-law issue
Want to report a by-law issue quickly and easily? You can report online or contact the By-law Enforcement Office.
Officers will respond to reports with an investigation after which the necessary procedures will be taken to ensure compliance.

Property Standards
Our By-law department inspects buildings and properties when there is a complaint about the interior or exterior conditions of the property. These inspections ensure property owners meet the Township's By-laws.
Animal Control
Dogs are prohibited from running at large in the Township. Dogs must be kept on the owner's property or on a leash under the owner's control while off their property. If a dog is found running at large, it will be placed in the pound and the owner will be responsible for paying the fines and impound fees in order to have their animal returned.
When to notify the police
You should report any criminal activity directly to the Ontario Provincial Police, such as:
- Loitering
- Trespassing
- Nosie related to domestic disputers
- Possible drug activity
- Vandalism
