Corporate Services provides Commissioner of Oaths services for documents such affidavits, oaths and statutory declarations. The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock does not have a Notary Public and cannot notarize documents.
Hours of Operation
This service is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Township Office. We encourage you to contact the Clerk to schedule an appointment, to make sure the commissioner is available before you visit.
Requirements
All parties required to sign the document must attend our office, in person, with a valid piece of government issued photo identification. Copies are not accepted. Documents should not be signed until you are in the presence of the Commissioner of Oaths.
Documents
Examples of common documents we may be able to commission:
- Consent letters for children travelling out of the country
- Immunization exemptions
- Vehicle transfers
- Proof of life – domestic and foreign pension documents
- Sworn statement of a family gift of a used motor vehicle in the province of Ontario
- Sworn statement for the transfer of a used motor vehicle in the province of Ontario
We cannot guarantee that we can commission documents until reviewed by the Commissioner of Oaths. We reserve the right to refuse commissioning services of any document.
