Council Meeting Highlights - September 18, 2024
Catch up with what happened at last weeks East Zorra-Tavistock Council Meeting with a quick read of the meeting highlights below.
During the Meeting
- Council supported a resolution to request that the Ontario government recognize the physician shortage across Ontario.
- Council approved a new tile drain and the appointment of an engineer for the Russell Award Drain.
- Staff Report CAO-2024-07 included information regarding the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund Grant Application. Staff will apply, once a project has received approval.
- Staff Report CAO-2024-07 included information regarding the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program Enabling Core Services Grant. Staff will be applying for the grant to help offset bridge replacement costs.
- Council reviewed Staff Report CAO-2024-08 regarding the EZTransit pilot project. The project was set to end at the end of September. Council made the difficult decision to end the pilot project as scheduled and discontinue the service due to the associated costs and funding required to continue the service. All unused tickets and passes can be fully refunded at the Township Administration Building at 89 Loveys Street, Hickson.
- Council provided direction to staff to begin the process for the sale of 90 Loveys Street, by public tender.
Planning Matters
Council reviewed and did not approve the minor variance application below:
- Minor Variance Application A-2-2024 for 263 Woodstock Street South.
