Council Meeting Highlights - March 15, 2023
Catch up with what happened at this weeks East Zorra-Tavistock Council Meeting with a quick read of the meeting highlights below.
During the Meeting
- Council accepted the tender submitted by Walker Construction for Joint Surface Treatment #Tender-Eng 2023-408 in the amount of $450,572.50 exclusive of taxes, for surface treatment on the 16th Line between Oxford Road 8 and Perth Oxford Road. The tender was issued as a cooperative bid by the County of Oxford.
- A Court of Revision was held for Tavistock Drain 1985 - Reconstruction 2023. There were no appeals and assessments were sustained.
- Staff spoke to the development of the 2023 Operating and Capital Budget. The Draft 2023 budget will be presented to Council on May 3, 2023.
- The Innerkip Easter Egg Hunt is taking place on Saturday April 8, 2023. The event organizers requested that the Township's insurance policy be extended to them for coverage of the event. Council approved the extended coverage for the 2023 event.
- Staff confirmed the Tavistock Spray Pad Project bid document is being prepared for release. Fundraising pledges have now exceeded the $100,000 initiative set by Council.
Planning Matters
Sitting as the Committee of Adjustment and then in public meeting, Council approved the minor variance and zone change application below:
- Application for Zone Change ZN1-23-01. Lots 55-56 & 62-65, Plan 820. Request to rezone the subject lands from ‘Village Zone (V)’ to ‘Residential Type 1 Zone (R1)’ to ensure a consistent zoning across the whole of the lands.
- Application for Minor Variance A-3-2023. 676848 16th Line. Part Lot 11-12, Concession 16. Request for relief from Section 7.2.4 Number of Accessory Dwellings and Garden Suites Per Lot to permit the establishment of a second accessory detached dwelling.
