OPP News Release - Stolen Prescription Medications in Rural EZT

Posted in the Announcements page on 12/08/2015 13:56:00 on Tuesday, December 08, 2015.

The OPP are investigating several cases of stolen prescription drugs with the target area being in rural East Zorra-Tavistock.

The reports are all similar in nature where a man will enter the home asking to use a phone book and following that requesting to use the washroom and then leaving. In every incident, prescribed medication was taken with the homeowner only realizing it after the thief has left.

Police are continuing to investigate and remind residents to be on the lookout for strange or suspicious behaviour. If approached, it is being recommended that you get a description of the vehicle and the person, licence plate number of the vehicle, as well as which direction they travel and notify police immediately, if possible, before the suspect leaves the area.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for these incidents should immediately contact the Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
