Make sure your smoke alarms have the label of a recognized testing laboratory.

An ionization smoke alarm is usually more responsive to flaming fires, and a photoelectric smoke alarm is usually more responsive to smoldering fires. Both types of alarms or combination (photoelectric/ionization) alarms should be installed in your home

Smoke alarms and alert devices, called accessories, are available for who are hearing impaired. Follow this link to find out more.
