Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation Appointment

The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock is seeking one (1) individual to serve as a Member/Director for the Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation.

The Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation (ROEDC) is a Not-for-Profit Corporation created by the rural Township’s in Oxford County, with a mandate to support the business and agricultural community within rural Oxford.

The economic development priorities include:
  • Workforce Development including youth engagement, newcomer services, and cultivating entrepreneurship;
  • Business Support including business retention strategies, training and support to our existing workforce, business networking;
  • Minimizing the Red Tape associated the development process during business expansion;
  • Fostering and supporting appealing communities and the encouragement of shopping locally.

The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from the Townships of Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock, South-West Oxford, Norwich and Zorra and is be responsible for providing governance and direction to the Economic Development Corporation.   The Board currently meets on a monthly basis but will be moving to a bi-monthly schedule.  Given the mandate of the Board, Council is seeking individuals with experience in business, finance, communications and/or marketing.  A strong interest in and understanding of the rural economy in Oxford County is also required for this volunteer position.
