East Zorra-Tavistock saw the highest voter turnout in all of the municipalities in Oxford County. Overall voter turnout was 50.67% - up from 42.70% in 2010.

“The candidates must be congratulated on their hard work in getting out and about in their communities, and encouraging East Zorra-Tavistock residents to exercise their right to vote,” says EZT Clerk Brenda Junker.

“We achieved our goal of increasing voter turnout by putting the ballot packages in our electors’ homes, and giving them the opportunity to vote at any time over the three-week voting period."

The average voter turnout with a traditional vote is 35%.

Junker adds this is the level of government that most affects all of us on a daily basis, and it was important that we make it as easy as possible for the electors to have the opportunity to vote for the person they thought would best represent their interests over the next four years.
