REMINDER: By-Law# 2005-46 states that “no person shall deposit snow or ice onto a highway or bridge.” This practice compromises the safety of our snow removal equipment and its operators as well as the motoring public.
Hazards created by pushing snow onto road allowances include;
- frozen snow piles can cause extensive damage to snow removal equipment and injury to the operators,
- greatly increases the chances of an accident with traffic traveling on the road,
- causes increased drifting in the area,
- snow piles cause drainage obstruction in the spring run off.
We appreciate your co-operation in this matter. It will assist us greatly in providing a safe and reliable service to our ratepayers.
