Beware of construction or closures when travelling the roads listed above. For your travelling convenience, Oxford County keeps an updated list of road closures. The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock also updates the Newsroom with information on road projects as well. To stay informed, subscribe to e-mail alerts on the Keep Me Informed page.
To see what the Township is doing for you, view the Current Initiatives page to view our ongoing projects.

Snow Conditions and Removal

The Township operates snow plows to remove snow from public roadways in the winter. All roads are also patrolled by our Road Department, who assesses the safety of township roads. In the event that the roads are deemed unsafe for travel, they will be closed until the conditions are clear. Tune into your local radio station for road closures due to poor road conditions.

Winter Control Policies

There is no parking on any roadway in Innerkip and Tavistock from November 1st through April 15th from 1:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. If required, this time is used for snow removal operations in these areas.

Do not push snow or ice onto the road or sidewalk when clearing your driveway. This applies everywhere; in town and in the rural areas. This practice endangers the safety of the motoring public, as well as snow removal equipment and its operators. It is also in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act.

Traffic Lights

Hydro & traffic signal emergencies may be reported to Erie Thames Power Corporation at 519-485-1820. For other inquiries about traffic signals, contact the Township Office.
